New Guns: SHOT Show 2025
Feb 11th 2025
The dust has settled. SHOT 2025 has ended. The annual industry trade show witnessed thousands of booths, tens of thousands of visitors, and an untold amount of general debauchery that the Sin City is known for (who else wants to know the collective bar tab of everyone that attends SHOT show?). With SHOT, hundreds of new products were released or announced over those four days in January. As many who follow this industry know, one does not need to attend the event to get the latest scoop—open your YouTube feed. Of course, this can be a bit overwhelming, with almost every major influencer attending the event and, in return to its viewers, releasing a copious amount of Red Bull-induced content (Red Bull does give you wings, right?). So, with that, I’ve combed through what I think were the best, or at the very least, the most interesting products released at this year’s show. Enjoy.
B&T Print X Suppressor: A modular suppressor with long and short configurations based on customer needs. As you’ll see, 3D printing is becoming standard practice among suppressor manufacturers.
B&T Print X H RBS: This 3D-printed titanium suppressor, with reduced back pressure capabilities is HUB compatible. This compatibility is becoming widely accepted across the industry, making it easier for end users to use. Another feature is an Inconel strike baffle that reinforces the first point of contact to help reduce signature, which also enhances the suppressor's full-auto rating.
B&T TP9 Upgrade Kit: The kit includes an aluminum-flared magwell, an aluminum charging handle with extended levers, and a titanium flat trigger that reduces the trigger-pull weight. The TP-9 could be the coolest sub-gun on the planet, and B&T has improved it.
Ballistic Advantage 10/22 Barrels: For the first time, the expert barrel makers are introducing 10/22 barrels to the market. These barrels are available for both standard and takedown models of the renowned Ruger rimfire. They are available in 16.1”, 12", and 8" lengths, with options for fluting.
Dead Air Sandman X: The new X model is 3D-printed, HUB-compatible, features a triskelion baffle system, and minimizes back pressure (common themes in newly released suppressors). It is designed for AR-15 users, particularly those who shoot at high volumes.
Eotech Vudu 3-9 Compact: This super-short optic is designed to minimize overall weight and footprint. It works with the ELFX red dot in a piggyback mount. Instead of rings, the optic employs the same base as a Trijicon ACOG scope. At first glance, the optic may appear unusual, but this setup provides excellent flexibility for the shooter, especially as scoped carbines gain popularity.
P7 Pro: The P7 Pro Slim enhances the iconic HK P7M13 design while staying true to its roots. A notable feature is that the new gun offers 100% parts interchangeability with the original. The P7 Pro Slim has an aluminum frame, a Picatinny rail, and a sleek profile that measures less than an inch thick (the gun weighs only 20 ounces). This is exactly what P7 enthusiasts have been waiting for! As a fan of classic HK pistols, this was one of the most exciting options revealed at SHOT Show, although it’s not an easily attainable item at three grand.
Ruger: 10/22 Carbon Fiber: This represents Ruger’s next evolution of the 10/22. It features a Grey Birch Chassis with a modular 10" forend compatible with M-LOK and Arca-Swiss systems and various ambidextrous QD points. The chassis includes an adjustable stock for both length of pull and comb height, which folds for portability. The hard-coat anodized and CNC-machined receiver is constructed from heat-treated 6061-T6511 aluminum for optimal performance. Additionally, the 10/22 Carbon Fiber boasts a cold hammer-forged barrel that is tensioned with a carbon fiber sleeve and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle for suppressors, a BX-Trigger that provides a light and crisp pull, and a dual bedding system for stability. The design incorporates a rear cleaning port for easy maintenance and a top barrel locator to enhance accuracy.
Silencerco Scythe STM: This is an all-stainless-steel version of the Scythe-Ti. The Scythe STM is a stainless-steel model that retains all the quality features of the Scythe-Ti but uses a different construction material. It’s designed for hard-use applications because of this material change. The Scythe STM is also full-auto rated without barrel restrictions. Additionally, the can is modular, featuring one baffle shorter than the titanium model in its short configuration and two baffles longer in its long configuration—allowing you to optimize your setup for maneuverability and suppression. The Scythe STM is rated for .223 REM/5.56 NATO up to .300 RUM.
Silencerco Spectre 9k: This is a smaller version of last year’s introduction. The Spectre series of suppressors is made from titanium and features triskelion baffles (no, I didn’t just write in Klingon). The K model has its size reduced to 3.69” and its weight lowered to a mere 3.17 oz. Talk about light and compact! Now, I want to build a briefcase subgun…
Silencerco S98: Continuing with its titanium theme, Silencerco has launched a new purpose-built 9mm suppressor. The S98 is an eccentric, fully welded titanium suppressor crafted specifically for 9mm handguns. Its eccentric design means the bore sits below the shooter’s line of sight, which provides a clean look and unobstructed sights. The S98 represents a new premium suppressor from Silencerco that builds on the success of the Osprey line.
Smith & Wesson 686 Plus and 629 Mountain Gun: Designed for the backwoods hunter or backpacker seeking the power of a .357 or .44 Magnum without the weight of a traditional steel-framed revolver. This firearm looks new but brings back Smith & Wesson’s 1981 Mountain Gun. The barrel is tapered and measures 4 inches long. The grip comes from Tyler Gunworks. Overall, it is a powerful, portable package that’s easy to carry and very shootable.
Smith & Wesson M&P9 Metal HD: The M&P9 Metal HD Spec Series is a 9mm steel-frame pistol boasting enhanced performance. It comes with a 23-round capacity magazine, a threaded barrel, a Strike Industries compensator, and a premium blue PVD finish. The M&P9 Metal HD is designed for precision and control, featuring an aluminum trigger, an optics-ready slide, and tall C.O.R.E. night sights. This model continues Smith's legacy of previous SPEC series pistols. It is expected to ship with additional items, such as a challenge coin, extra magazines, and a knife.
SNT Motiv K2: Formerly known as Daewoo Precision Industries, SNT is bringing the South Korean battle rifle back to the United States. If you’re unfamiliar with the K2, it’s a hybrid of AR and AK platforms. The K2 is an appealing weapon that has been hard for collectors to acquire. This announcement was unexpected at SHOT Show. The K2 is set to hit dealer shelves by the end of 2025, pending importation red tape. Do you know what trend is emerging at this year’s SHOT Show? Old is cool. (For instance, Harrington & Richardson is partnering with DS Arms to introduce a FAL to market this year).
Stuff and Things INC Stepard: This is a clone of the Russian Gepard, a compact AK-based submachine gun designed for close-quarters combat. STINC has modernized it to combine the classic appeal of Russian firearms with contemporary Glock magazines. Cloning and resto-modding classic firearms continue to be themes at this year’s show. The Stepard will be sold as a pistol, with the option to purchase the stock and convert it to an SBR (via Form 1).
Surefire: Surefire's new offerings include innovations in weapon lights and suppressor adaptation. The XC3 Compact Handgun Weapon Light delivers 550 lumens of illumination in a slim, rail-mounted design ideal for concealed carry or duty use (it has the same footprint as the Streamlight TLR-7, which is neat).
Surefire Fast-Attach HUB: The Fast-Attach Hub enhances versatility for suppressor users. It enables 1 3/8-24 direct-thread suppressors to connect easily to SureFire SOCOM muzzle devices, providing tool-free Quick Detach functionality. Those who already use Surefire’s interface need this.
Surefire Dominator: The Ultra-High-Capacity Searchlight is back, delivering robust performance, exceptional brightness, and extended runtime for search-and-rescue or tactical applications. When you need the power of the sun, check out this light. (It boasts 4,400 lumens and pushes that out with 350,000 candelas.)
Taurus 650 & 850 Revolvers: Chambered in .38 Special or .357 Magnum, Taurus's double-action-only revolvers feature durable coatings, two finish options, a slimmer cylinder, and interchangeable front sights. Taurus aims to create the best affordable carry revolver for everyone.
Zastava M72: The M72 is a civilian version of an RPK-style rifle. It features a heavy-barreled AK-47 design, a quick-detach bipod, a 21-inch chrome-lined barrel with cooling fins, and a ribbed receiver, similar to the classic Russian rifle. Who wouldn’t want a Serbian-built squad support weapon?
